Newtown Public schools has enrolled in the following student accident insurance for the 2024-2025 school year. Policies are underwritten by Wellfleet, A Berkshire Hathaway Company.
All student injuries must be reported to the school nurse or a building Principal. An accident report and an insurance claim (Part A) will be completed by the school and signed off by the building Principal. Once this information has been submitted to Newtown Public Schools Business Office, a letter will be sent to the parents of the injured person with complete instructions for submitting a claim.
Newtown Public Schools is the provider for the Insurance only and is not involved with any claim processing or coverage issues between the claimant and insurance company. Any questions regarding coverage or claim processing should be directed to the claims office of Wellfleet. Complete contact information will appear in the letter to the parent/guardian.
