When your online registration is received, you will be asked to bring the following documents to your childs school:
Proof of Age
- The child's full size birth certificate (not wallet size) for all students born in the United States.
- Students born outside of the US need to present a passport/visa or green card.
- The State Health Assessment form if already completed
Proof of Residency Documents
- A current utility bill (electric, gas or phone).
AND one of the following as applicable
- Homeowners must present one of the following:
- Current mortgage statement/bill,
- Copy of the Newtown home property tax statement
- The title page of the current homeowner's insurance policy.
- Renters must present a current rental/lease agreement or notarized letter from the landlord or owner acknowledging the parent/guardian and student’s residence at the time of enrollment and on a yearly basis thereafter.
- Propery is owned or rented by someone else: If the student and parent/guardian are living in a dwelling that is rented or owned and occupied by another person, a Certificate of Residence and affidavits needs to be filled out by the person with whom the family resides. The owner/renter of the property will also be responsible for providing the district with the above documentation.
A verification visit by district personnel may be required prior to the student beginning school.
Verification of residency must be completed before the student will be admitted to any Newtown Public School.
