Principal Message
I am honored to be the principal at Head O’Meadow Elementary School. Head O’Meadow is a wonderful place to be!
This is my 22nd year in education. Prior to being at Head O’Meadow I taught third, first, sixth and fifth grade (in that order). For the past five years I was the assistant principal at Sandy Hook School.
I love being with students in classrooms, at recess and lunch. This is the best way to learn about them and to build connections with students.
In my free time I love spending time with my wife and two children. I also enjoy running, reading and participating in obstacle course races like Tough Mudder. I am always trying to learn new things.
We have an amazing group of students, families and staff at Head O’Meadow. Everyone works together for the students. Our goal is for children to develop a love of learning and to learn how to work together with everyone around them.
Being safe, responsible and kind is at the core of everything we do. Small acts of kindness can make everyone’s day brighter.
I am excited to continue this learning journey with our students, staff and families!
Lead Teacher
Dear Head O’ Meadow Families,
I am incredibly excited to be the Lead Teacher at Head O’ Meadow Elementary School. I have called Head O’ Meadow my “home” for twenty years as a classroom teacher and feel that it is such a magical place for children to learn and grow. I love working alongside the staff to support the academic and social development of the students. As a school community we work together to promote an inclusive school environment under the core pillars of safety, responsibility and kindness.
In my free time I love to walk, travel (especially to warm tropical destinations), golf and most of all spend time with my husband, son and our rescued greyhound named Charlie.
I look forward to a great year at Head O’ Meadow Elementary School! Please do not hesitate to contact me so we can continue to work together to help your child continue their success at HO’M.
Warmly,
Karen Dreger
