Principal Message
Welcome to Sandy Hook School!
We are so proud of our Sandy Hook School community, a place that practices kindness each day. We pride ourselves on finding the positive in all situations and making everyone feel like they are welcome in our school.
We are grateful to have a staff that values learning for themselves and for each of their students. SHS staff collaborate throughout the year to make sure all students are cared for and challenged. As a result we see strong academic and social emotional growth for students. We have been witness to students demonstrating perseverance and pushing themselves to new academic heights.
As long as each student remembers to always be their best self, “Think you Can, Work Hard, Get Smart, Be Kind and Have Fun”, they will be successful!
With Warm Regards,
Dr. Gombos
Lead Teacher
It is a privilege to be the Lead Teacher at Sandy Hook Elementary School. I am excited to be starting my 22nd year in education. I began my teaching career in the Southington Public Schools and prior to becoming the Lead Teacher, I was a Special Education Teacher at SHS since 2004.
I am honored to work with amazing students, staff, and families each day at Sandy Hook Elementary School. At SHS, relationships and connections are at the core of all we do. I am dedicated to our students and work hard with colleagues and families to create and support the academic, social, and emotional needs of all learners within our collaborative learning community.
I look forward to a great year at Sandy Hook School! Please do not hesitate to contact me so we can continue to work together to help your child continue their success at SHS.
